We are very proud of the progress made in recycling puffy jacket waste. Fiber frommulti-layer garment feedstock contain some non PET fibers and treatments, as wellas hard point that are more difficult to separate from these garments that mono-layerones. The consortium found solutions to coop with these issues and successfully depolymerized, extracted the monomer and rebuild a polymer that has been used to produce new yarn. We are pleased to inform you that both polymer and yarn production have been successfully achieved.
This first spool of yarn marks the culmination of significant work on the previous stages and highlights the progress made by all partners. This step paves the way for production of cord and new garments with the same quality as if produced with virgin PET. Stay tuned to follow our continued progress!
