The Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA) is an initiative launched by the European Commission to support the transition towards a circular economy for plastics. It aims to significantly increase the amount of recycled plastic used in products and packaging across Europe.
The CPA focuses on achieving a goal of 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics entering the market by 2025.The alliance covers the entire plastics value chain, including over 330 organizations from industry, academia, and public authorities.
Participants in the CPA are encouraged to make voluntary pledges to commit to the production or use of recycled plastics.
This collaborative effort is designed to create a circular plastics market, driving sustainability within the European Union.By focusing on improving recycling processes and the use of secondary raw materials, the CPA is a key part of the European strategy for plastics in a circular economy.
